TVS Motor Company Re-enters South African Market with Seven-Model Lineup
The product portfolio includes the Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 200 in the performance and sport category; the Raider 125, Trak 150, HLX 125 4G, and HLX 150X in the commuter and utility space; and the NTorq 125 scooter for urban mobility.
TVS Motor Company has announced its re-entry into the South African two-wheeler market through a strategic partnership with The Nexus Collective, a distributorship backed by the Bidvest Group, South Africa's largest automotive distributor.
The Chennai-headquartered two-wheeler maker is launching seven models across multiple segments under the campaign theme 'Ride the Future'. The product portfolio includes the Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 200 in the performance and sport category; the Raider 125, Trak 150, HLX 125 4G, and HLX 150X in the commuter and utility space; and the NTorq 125 scooter for urban mobility.
The move makes TVS Motor the only two-wheeler brand in South Africa to operate across multiple product forms and segments simultaneously, according to the company.
Africa remains a critical geography for TVS Motor's international ambitions. As of 2025, the company's international business accounted for 25 percent of total sales, with the African continent contributing over half of global operational revenue and nearly 70 percent of export unit volumes.
"South Africa is a strategically important market for TVS Motor Company. This partnership enables us to combine global engineering excellence with strong local execution," said Peyman Kargar, President – International Business, TVS Motor Company.
Rahul Nayak, Continent Head – Africa, said the company's immediate priorities include retail expansion, after-sales support infrastructure, and building consistent brand visibility in the market.
TVS Motor operates four manufacturing facilities in India and Indonesia, and has a presence across 90 countries. The company's global portfolio also includes UK-based Norton Motorcycles and Swiss e-bike subsidiaries SEMG and EGO Movement.
TVS Motor had entered South Africa in September 2021 through a distribution partnership with ETG Logistics (ETGL), a division of the Export Trading Group. That arrangement was supposed to involve 30 exclusive dealerships, an assembly set-up, and a training centre in Johannesburg.
The company has switched to a new distribution partner — The Nexus Collective.
