TVS Motor Company Posts 27% Rise in Q2 Sales, Driven by EV and Export Growth

TVS Motor Company reported a 27% increase in two-wheeler sales for the second quarter of FY2026-27, with total volumes reaching 1.8 million units, up from 1.5 million units in the same period last year. Three-wheeler sales rose 47% to 78,475 units, compared with 53,449 units in Q2 FY2025-26. Combined quarterly sales stood at 1.9 million units.

The company's electric vehicle segment saw the sharpest growth. Two-wheeler EV sales rose 133% to 186,000 units in Q2 FY2026-27, reflecting accelerating demand for electric mobility in both domestic and international markets.

International business was a notable contributor to overall growth. Export volumes rose 35% to 539,000 units in the quarter, against approximately 400,000 units in Q2 FY2025-26.

For September 2026, TVS Motor recorded total sales of 672,790 units, a 24% increase from 541,064 units in September 2025. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 17% to 482,073 units, while total two-wheeler volumes — including exports — rose 23% to 645,955 units.

Electric two-wheelers posted a 110% increase in September, with 65,799 units sold against 31,266 units a year earlier. International sales for the month grew 48% to 180,700 units. Three-wheeler sales expanded 57% to 26,835 units from 17,141 units in September 2025.

The September figures follow a strong August. TVS Motor Company's two-wheeler sales rose 21% to 591,437 units in August 2026, from 490,788 units in August 2025, with electric two-wheeler sales surging 137% and exports rising 29% year-on-year. The sequential acceleration from August's 21% growth to September's 24% growth suggests demand held up through the festive season build-up, with EV volumes posting triple-digit growth in both months.

TVS Motor Company is part of the TVS VENU group. The company operates manufacturing facilities in India and Indonesia and sells products across 90 countries. Its UK subsidiary, Norton Motorcycles, operates in the premium motorcycle segment.
