TVS Motor Company conducted a road safety initiative in Shimla on October 24, distributing 100 children's helmets to students at Delhi Public School. The event formed part of the company's 'Protect Little Riders' campaign under its broader #TVSRide4Safety program.
The helmet distribution ceremony was attended by Arjit Singh Thakur, Superintendent of Police for Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Response Force, and Anil Walia from the education sector. TVS Motor Company was represented by Vimal Sumbly, Head of Business – Premium, and R. Babu, Senior Vice President – R&D.
The initiative aims to promote road safety awareness among young students and encourage the use of protective gear. Speaking at the event, Sumbly emphasized the company's focus on early safety education. "At TVS Motor, we believe awareness is the first step towards safety. Through this initiative, we aim to nurture a generation that values protection, responsibility, and empathy on the road," he said.
Thakur commended the program, stating that educating children on helmet safety helps build responsible behavior and prevents accidents. "Efforts like these go a long way in preventing avoidable mishaps and fostering a culture of safety within our communities," he noted.
The 'Protect Little Riders' campaign was launched by TVS Motor in 2024 to address child safety concerns for young pillion riders on two-wheelers. The company has been expanding the initiative through various community outreach programs.
In 2023, TVS Motor partnered with KidZania to establish a Road Safety Experience Zone, providing children with an interactive learning environment focused on motorcycling safety fundamentals.
The Shimla distribution drive represents the company's continued efforts in community engagement around road safety education.
