TVS clocks 15,000 units iQube sales in Delhi-NCR, launches 3 new variants 

TVS Motor Company (TVS) has today expanded its iQube range of electric scooters in one of its key markets - Delhi-NCR. The company, which has clocked sales of over 15,000 units in the national capital region since the launch of the iQube in CY2020, has introduced three new variants in its all-electric portfolio.

The new iQube range now starts at Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom inclusive of state subsidies) for the newly-launched 2.2kWh variant offering a 75km range, to Rs 185,373 ex-showroom for the 5.1kWh ST variant that claims to offer a real-world range of 150km. The company has also introduced a smaller 3.4kWh version of the ST trim with a 100km usable range.

In all, the iQube range now spans five variants, with the company lowering the price barrier and making its most popular e-scooter attractive to a larger pool of customers - those on a budget, and those wanting all the bells and whistles from their electric scooter. TVS has cumulatively sold over 300,000 iQube electric scooters across India in the last four years, and the company says over 75 percent of its customers use the on-board telematics-based connected features standard across the iQube range. 

The iQube features live vehicle tracking, geofencing, vehicle tow alert, as well as a crash-and-fall alert across all variants, while some features such as voice commands, and Alexa connectivity are chargeable at an annual subscription fee of Rs 900 after the first year. 

While the new entry-level 2.2kWh iQube gets 75km range and a 5-inch TFT display, the top-of-the-line 5.1kWh iQube ST gets a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. According to the company, despite the high 150km real-world range on the ST, a predominant chunk of buyers are seen riding their scooters for an average distance of 40km every day.

In Delhi-NCR, TVS claims that iQube owners have collectively ridden over 1.2 crore kilometers in the last four years, and have saved over 2.6 lakh kilograms of CO2, and approximately Rs 25 crore in fuel costs. While the iQube presently retails from over 600 of TVS’s widespread dealer network across the country, TVS aims to deepen its EV penetration with more outlets retailing EVs in the future. 

The company is also foraying into international markets with its all-electric range, and it has already begun selling the iQube in Nepal, Sri Lanka, and France, while Italy is next in line.
