Toyota Kirloskar Motor Records 3% Growth in July Sales Despite Market Challenges

Company sells 32,575 units in July 2025, continues strong financial year performance with 14% growth.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Records 3% Growth in July Sales Despite Market Challenges

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported sales of 32,575 units in July 2025, marking a 3% increase compared to 31,656 units sold in the same month last year. The sales figure includes 29,159 units sold in the domestic market and 3,416 units exported, the company announced on August 1, 2025.

Strong Financial Year Performance
The July performance contributes to TKM's robust financial year growth, with the company selling 119,632 units in the first four months of FY2026 (April-July 2025) compared to 104,861 units in the corresponding period last year, representing a 14% increase.

The calendar year performance shows similar momentum, with 207,460 units sold from January to July 2025 against 181,906 units in the same period of 2024.

Hybrid Market Leadership
Toyota India dominates the strong hybrid vehicle market with an 81% share in Q1 FY2026, selling 21,489 units of strong hybrid vehicles compared to Maruti Suzuki's 18% share with 4,745 units. This leadership position underscores Toyota's strategic focus on hybrid technology in the Indian market.

Urban Cruiser Hyryder Performance
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder has maintained strong sales momentum, selling over 7,000 units for two consecutive months and surpassing 150,000 total sales. The model contributed 19,677 units in the April-June 2025 quarter, accounting for 24% of the company's wholesale sales in Q1 FY2026.

Manufacturing Infrastructure
TKM operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi with a combined installed production capacity of up to 342,000 units annually. The first plant, established in October 1997, produces the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Legender with a capacity of up to 132,000 units.

The second plant, operational since December 2010, manufactures the Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Hilux with a capacity of up to 210,000 units.

Market Outlook
Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at TKM, stated that the company remains committed to a customer-centric approach. The company plans to continue serving the market with quality products and enhanced value-added services through expanded reach, which it considers key growth drivers for the coming months.

Company Structure
Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates as a joint venture with Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan holding 89% equity participation and Kirloskar Systems Limited of India holding 11%. The company employs over 6,500 people across its operations on approximately 432 acres of land area with 74,000 square meters of building space.
