Toyota Kirloskar Motor Partners with Uttarakhand Government on CSR Initiatives

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Uttarakhand to implement corporate social responsibility initiatives across the state beginning in fiscal year 2025-26. The partnership aims to address developmental needs in education, health, environmental sustainability, and community development sectors.

The agreement was formalized during a CSR Conclave held in Dehradun on September 25, 2025. The ceremony was attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, RSS Akil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar, state government officials, and TKM executives including Country Head and Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Governance Vikram Gulati.

Project Scope and Impact

According to the agreement, the multi-year CSR projects are projected to benefit more than 370,000 people across Uttarakhand. The initiatives represent a collaborative approach between the automotive manufacturer and state government to address community development priorities.

Chief Minister Dhami characterized the partnership as an example of public-private collaboration that would contribute to inclusive growth throughout the state. He expressed appreciation for Toyota's commitment to implementing comprehensive CSR programs in Uttarakhand.

Gulati stated that the collaboration aligns with Toyota's approach to community empowerment through sustainable actions designed for long-term impact. He emphasized the company's commitment to supporting healthier and self-reliant communities through these initiatives.

Program Components

The CSR framework encompasses several focus areas. In education, TKM will support early childhood development by enhancing identified Anganwadi centers as part of child-to-community initiatives. Healthcare efforts will include upgrading selected healthcare facilities and promoting improved hygiene practices in schools to strengthen access to quality medical care.

Environmental sustainability measures will involve installing solar power systems for livelihood units and exploring solar implementation at Anganwadi and healthcare centers. These renewable energy projects align with TKM's carbon neutrality objectives, which prioritize clean energy adoption, conservation practices, and sustainable urban development approaches.
