Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Zilla Parishad on July 30, 2025, to develop infrastructure at Zilla Parishad Kendriya Prathamik School (ZPKPS) in Bidkin, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. The agreement was formalized at the Collector Office with participation from district officials and TKM executives.

The initiative targets a 100-year-old government school currently serving over 800 students from economically disadvantaged communities. School enrollment is projected to reach approximately 1,200 students in the coming period, necessitating infrastructure upgrades to accommodate the growing student population.

Shri Deelip Swami, Collector and District Magistrate of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, attended the ceremony alongside Shri Ankit, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, and education department officials.

TKM was represented by Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer and Senior Vice President, along with other company executives.

The school development project will be implemented in phases over three years, from 2025 to 2028. The collaboration aligns with TKM's recent announcement of establishing a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, representing the company's expanding presence in the state.

TKM positions education as a central component of its corporate social responsibility strategy. The company operates under what it terms a "child-to-community model," focusing on early childhood care, foundational literacy, school infrastructure, and access to learning resources. This approach connects to the company's broader philosophy of "Samuday Vikas" or community development.

According to company data as of March 31, 2025, TKM's CSR initiatives have reached over 4.24 million people across India. The company operates across six CSR areas: Education, Health and Hygiene, Environment, Skill Development, Road Safety, and Disaster Management, alongside an employee volunteering program called iCARE.

TKM maintains production facilities in Bidadi with a combined installed capacity of up to 342,000 units annually. The company's first plant, established in 1997, produces models including Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Legender. The second plant, operational since 2010, manufactures Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Hilux vehicles.

The Bidkin school project represents TKM's entry into Maharashtra's education sector, with the company stating its alignment with national programs including Skill India and the National Education Policy. The initiative also connects to UN Sustainable Development Goals and national missions such as Viksit Bharat 2047 and Swachh Bharat.

ZPKPS Bidkin serves as one of the region's largest government schools by student intake, providing education to children from diverse economic backgrounds.

The infrastructure development aims to create what the company describes as a modern and inclusive learning environment to support the institution's expanding role in the community.
