Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched its first Company Owned Toyota Used Car Outlet (TUCO) in Northeast India, located in Guwahati. This marks the third such facility under the “Toyota U-Trust” brand, following outlets in Bengaluru and Delhi. The new outlet spans approximately 4,000 square feet and has the capacity to display over 15 certified Toyota vehicles.

TUCO outlets aim to provide customers with access to high-quality pre-owned Toyota vehicles that meet stringent safety and reliability standards. Each vehicle undergoes a 203-point inspection by Toyota-trained technicians to ensure they meet Toyota’s global standards for quality. Additionally, service history verification and other documentation checks are conducted to provide customers with transparency and peace of mind.

The TUCO initiative incorporates Toyota’s ‘MARU MARU’ process, which emphasizes thorough cleaning and vehicle preparation. Digital showrooms offer complete pricing and vehicle history transparency, and customers have access to features such as the ‘Valuate Your Car’ tool on the Toyota U-Trust website.

Vehicles purchased from TUCO come with a warranty of up to 30,000 kilometers or two years, along with three complimentary services redeemable at any Toyota service center nationwide. These services aim to ensure a reliable and trustworthy after-sales experience.

Takashi Takamiya, Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, stated, “Thanks to all our customers as we just delivered total 1,000 vehicles from our Company Owned Outlets (TUCO). The used car sector is a crucial part of Toyota’s overall growth strategy in India, aligning with our vision of ‘Happiness for All.’ The expansion of TUCO with the opening of our first used car outlet in Guwahati highlights our commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.”

With the Indian used car market projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8%, the Northeast region is becoming a significant contributor to the organized used car market. Guwahati’s strategic location serves as an important hub for Toyota’s business expansion in the Northeast, helping meet the growing demand for high-quality pre-owned vehicles.

Atul Sood, Project Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, emphasized, “The opening of the Guwahati TUCO facility marks a significant milestone for Toyota Kirloskar Motor. We are excited to expand our footprint in the used car market, offering customers in the Northeast region a reliable and transparent platform to buy and sell Toyota vehicles.”

The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s development plans for the Northeast, contributing to the region’s mobility and customer access. Every vehicle at TUCO is refurbished using Toyota Genuine Parts at exclusive centers, following global Toyota standards and ensuring high quality and reliability.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor initially entered the used car market in 2022, becoming the first auto manufacturer in India to offer fully OEM-refurbished used cars. Building on this, TKM expanded its presence to Delhi in May 2024, further strengthening its commitment to delivering high-quality pre-owned vehicles to customers across India.
