Toyota Glanza Facelift India Debut Scheduled For October 14

Toyota is set to unveil the Glanza facelift in India on October 14, according to dealer sources. The update is expected to arrive around a month after the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Baleno and is expected to feature largely similar mechanical and equipment changes.

The facelifted Glanza is expected to get a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, revised exterior styling and additional safety and convenience equipment. The cabin design is expected to remain broadly unchanged.

Toyota Glanza Facelift: New Petrol Engine

The key mechanical update is expected to be the replacement of the current K12N 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with the Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine used in the facelifted Baleno.

In the Baleno, the engine produces 83hp and 112Nm and is paired with a five-speed manual or AMT. The same transmission options are expected for the facelifted Glanza. A 70hp CNG version with a manual gearbox is also expected to continue in the updated range.

Toyota Glanza Facelift: Exterior Changes

The Glanza shares its basic architecture with the Baleno but uses a Toyota-specific front-end design. This differentiation is expected to continue with the facelift.

The updated model could receive a redesigned grille and revised front bumper, while the lighting elements, alloy wheels and rear bumper are expected to remain largely unchanged.

Toyota Glanza Facelift: New Features

The cabin is expected to retain its existing overall design, with the update focusing mainly on equipment additions. Features introduced on the Baleno facelift that could be added to the Glanza include Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a ventilated wireless phone charger and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Toyota Glanza Facelift: Price And Rivals

The facelifted Glanza is expected to see a slight price increase over the current model, which is priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Glanza will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20.

The update is expected to retain Toyota's existing approach of differentiating the Glanza from its Maruti counterpart primarily through styling and equipment while sharing the major mechanical changes.
