Tivolt Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of the Murugappa Group and part of TI Clean Mobility, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a key player in India’s renewable energy sector and provider of EV charging solutions, to enhance e-mobility for commercial vehicles nationwide. The partnership aims to establish a robust EV charging ecosystem by utilising Tata Power’s expertise in EV charging solutions and Tivolt’s growing network of small electric commercial vehicles.
The MoU was signed by Saju Nair, CEO of Tivolt Electric Vehicles, and Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development for EV Charging at Tata Power, with Shivram Bikkina, Chief of Solar Rooftop & EV Charging at Tata Power, present at the signing ceremony.
TPREL will bring its experience in building and managing EV charging infrastructure across India to Tivolt dealerships, customer locations, and high-traffic public spaces. By deploying strategically located EV chargers, TPREL aims to offer reliable and accessible charging solutions for commercial EV owners.
Previously, TPREL has collaborated with other OEMs to install over 200 customised EV charging stations in more than 100 cities, including major metropolitan areas such as Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, and Kochi.
In addition to providing charging infrastructure, TPREL will explore integrating solar energy systems to power Tivolt dealerships and customer locations. This approach aims to reduce carbon emissions and lower charging costs for consumers, contributing to a more sustainable and affordable transition to electric vehicles.

Tivolt Electric Vehicles, as a Murugappa Group venture, aims to redefine urban mobility with tech-driven EV solutions and a customer-centric service approach. The company specialises in small and light commercial vehicles under the Montra Electric brand, offering solutions focused on reliability, sustainability, and innovation.
TPREL has expanded its EZ Charge network to include over 100,000 home chargers, 6,500 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, and more than 1,100 bus charging stations across 530 cities and towns. These chargers are strategically located at highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, and residential complexes.
