ThunderPlus has launched a 120kW fast-charging station at Prasads IMAX Mall in Hyderabad, adding high-capacity EV charging infrastructure at a major consumer destination in the city.
The station is located within the mall, allowing EV users to charge their vehicles while using the facility for entertainment, dining and shopping. The location also provides access to EV users travelling through central Hyderabad, with landmarks such as the Telangana Secretariat, Hussain Sagar Lake, NTR Gardens, Necklace Road, Lumbini Park and Tank Bund located nearby.
Destination EV Charging at Malls
The launch comes as EV charging infrastructure increasingly expands beyond standalone charging locations to include destination-based sites such as malls and other places where users already spend time. Such locations allow EV owners to use their existing dwell time for charging rather than making a separate trip for the purpose.
Women-Led Franchise Investment Behind the ThunderPlus Station
The station has been established through a franchise investment by Kundurthy Pavithra, described by ThunderPlus as the youngest woman investor in its network. Pavithra said the location was selected for its footfall and the amount of time consumers typically spend at the mall.
According to ThunderPlus director Raj Kumar Medimi, the investment reflects growing participation by entrepreneurs in the EV charging sector, including women investors.
ThunderPlus said the Prasads IMAX station is intended to serve both mall visitors and EV users travelling across the central Hyderabad corridor.
