ThunderPlus, a full-stack EV charging and energy solutions provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Indofast Energy, a battery-swapping solutions provider, to develop integrated electric vehicle energy hubs across India. The collaboration will see Indofast Energy deploy its battery swapping stations within ThunderPlus charging locations, beginning with Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR before expanding to more than 250 sites across the country.

The arrangement allows Indofast Energy to utilise ThunderPlus's existing space and power infrastructure to establish its swapping stations, creating what both companies describe as a one-stop energy destination for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial fleets. The co-located model is aimed particularly at gig economy workers and fleet operators who rely on minimal vehicle downtime.

Rajeev YSR, Executive Director and CEO of ThunderPlus, framed the partnership as part of a longer-term infrastructure vision. "India does not need parallel EV solutions, it needs integrated energy ecosystems," he said, adding that the tie-up would make mobility destinations "energy-agnostic, future-ready, and inclusive of electric mobility."

Anant Badjatya, CEO of Indofast Energy, said the collaboration was intended to move beyond what he called the "charging versus swapping" debate. He highlighted Indofast's two-minute battery swap capability as a key advantage when bundled with ThunderPlus's charging network, offering drivers flexibility without interruption.

The partnership reflects a wider industry trend toward consolidating EV infrastructure services under a single roof, as operators look to improve utilisation of existing real estate and power connections while broadening their appeal to a range of vehicle types and use cases.
