Tessolve Semiconductor Raises $75 Million from Vector Line Capital
The US-based semiconductor-focused investment firm marks its first India investment, joining existing backers TPG and Novo Tellus in the Bengaluru company.
Tessolve Semiconductor, a Hero Electronix company, has secured a $75 million investment from Vector Line Capital, a US-based firm that invests exclusively in semiconductors and the semiconductor supply chain. The deal, announced on October 11, 2026, represents Vector Line's first investment in India and adds a third institutional backer to a company that has been expanding its role in global chip development.
The funds are earmarked for acquisitions that extend Tessolve's technical capabilities, service offerings, and geographic presence. The company said it is already in advanced discussions to close multiple acquisitions over the next two quarters, indicating the capital will be deployed relatively quickly.
Vector Line Capital manages more than $1.6 billion and was founded by Geoffrey Baldwin, who spent over three decades in technology investment banking. Baldwin co-founded GCA Advisors, which was subsequently acquired by Houlihan Lokey, where he served as Co-Chairman of the Global Technology Group. Before that, he was a senior member of Morgan Stanley's technology M&A practice. The firm describes its investment approach as supporting companies at critical expansion phases where stable capital and operational alignment can create durable value within the semiconductor ecosystem.
Founded in 2004, Tessolve employs more than 3,500 engineers across 10 countries and operates nine laboratories globally. The company offers end-to-end semiconductor engineering services, covering chip architecture and design through validation, testing, and embedded systems — a breadth of capability that few firms in the sector can match at scale. It counts 18 of the world's 20 largest semiconductor companies among its customers, alongside major hyperscalers and chip startups across end markets that include AI, high-performance computing, automotive, data centers, and industrial applications.
The company's primary technical focus areas are AI, high-performance computing, and analog and mixed-signal chip development. To shorten development cycles, Tessolve uses pre-engineered semiconductor platforms and proprietary design flows, supported by a global lab infrastructure and partnerships with leading foundries, IP providers, EDA vendors, and test equipment companies. It has also been an active participant in India's emerging semiconductor ecosystem, working with new foundries, OSATs, and chip startups developing in the country.
The broader context for the deal is the growing complexity of semiconductor development. As chips become more sophisticated, technology companies have increasingly sought engineering partners capable of carrying work across the full development cycle rather than individual segments of it. Tessolve has positioned itself as one of a small number of firms that can do this across the semiconductor value chain on a global scale.
Tessolve's parent, Hero Electronix, is the technology investment arm of the Hero Group, set up in 2015 to build India-based businesses in sectors including semiconductors, AI, intelligent hardware, design-led manufacturing, and strategic electronics. The platform describes itself as a long-term, evergreen investor that works alongside founders and management teams.
Existing investors in Tessolve include TPG, a global alternative asset manager founded in San Francisco in 1992 with $327 billion in assets under management, and Novo Tellus Capital Partners, a Singapore-based private equity firm with over $1 billion in assets focused on technology and industrial companies across the Indo-Pacific. The addition of Vector Line brings a sector-specific investor with deep relationships across the global semiconductor industry, which Tessolve's leadership indicated was a factor in the investment decision alongside the capital itself.
