Multi-temperature warehouse at Taj Nagar to serve quick commerce, pharmaceutical, and food sectors.
Transport Corporation of India Ltd. (TCI) added a 1.5 lakh square feet cold chain warehousing facility at Taj Nagar, Gurugram on Thursday, expanding its temperature-controlled logistics infrastructure in the National Capital Region.
The facility will be operated by TCI Cold Chain Solutions Ltd., a joint venture between TCI and Mitsui & Co., Japan. It is designed to serve sectors including quick commerce, quick service restaurants, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, dairy, meat and poultry, beauty and life sciences, and specialty chemicals.
Located between the KMP Expressway and Dwarka Expressway, the warehouse has unrestricted 24x7 truck access as it falls outside heavy vehicle no-entry zones. The facility offers multi-temperature storage across frozen, chilled, and air-conditioned zones with box-in/box-out, unit-in/unit-out, and pallet-in/pallet-out models on a pay-as-you-use commercial structure.
Commenting on the expansion, B. Sumit Kumar, CEO, TCI Cold Chain Solutions Ltd. said, "The expansion of our Gurugram cold chain facility reflects the growing need for dependable, scalable and compliant infrastructure in the region. With strong connectivity and a flexible operating model, this warehouse strengthens our ability to support fast-moving and regulated supply chains across NCR".
The facility includes a 500-kW rooftop solar power installation, energy-efficient refrigeration systems, SCADA-based monitoring, VESDA Panel for early smoke detection, and over 600 CCTV cameras. The access-controlled campus provides truck parking for inbound and outbound operations.
TCI manages over 16 million square feet of warehousing space nationwide. The company, with annual revenues exceeding Rs. 7,000 crore, has operated in the integrated supply chain and logistics sector for over 60 years.
