TATA.ev and Shell Launch 21 Mega EV Charging Hubs Across Key Indian Cities

TATA.ev has partnered with Shell India Mobility to launch 21 new TATA.ev x Shell Mega Charging Hubs across Bengaluru, Chennai, Mysuru, Pune, and Vadodara, expanding India’s public electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The hubs are equipped with 120 kW fast chargers and multiple charging bays, aimed at enabling quicker and more reliable charging for EV users.

The charging hubs are located along major highway corridors and urban hotspots, supporting both intra-city travel and long-distance intercity mobility. Each site includes on-ground support staff, access to Shell Select and Deli2go outlets for food and beverages, and hygienic restroom facilities. Tata EV owners are also eligible for curated in-store offers and charging tariff benefits.

With this addition, the TATA.ev Mega Charging Hub network now exceeds 130 operational locations nationwide. The expansion is part of TATA.ev’s ‘Open Collaboration 2.0’ framework, under which the company is working with charge point operators to develop high-speed charging corridors across India. The company has outlined plans to introduce more than 400,000 charging points, including 500 Mega Charging Hubs, by 2027.

The newly launched hubs strengthen charging coverage in key regions, including major mobility corridors in Bengaluru and Chennai, intercity routes in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, urban and commuter routes in Pune, and the Ahmedabad–Mumbai highway via Vadodara. The initiative is positioned as part of a broader effort to support the growth of electric mobility through accessible, high-capacity public charging infrastructure.

TATA.ev, the electric vehicle business of Tata Motors, has been actively expanding India’s EV charging infrastructure as part of its broader strategy to support electric mobility adoption. Under its Open Collaboration 2.0 initiative, the company aims to significantly increase the number of charging points across the country in collaboration with multiple charging point operators. This effort is designed to more than double current public charging availability and accelerate infrastructure growth through strategic partnerships.

A key component of this expansion is the TATA.ev Mega Charger network, which focuses on high-speed and high-capacity charging stations. The first phase of this network saw the launch of 10 strategically located MegaChargers along major urban centers and highway corridors, developed in partnership with infrastructure providers such as ChargeZone and Statiq. These stations include fast chargers capable of delivering at least 120 kW of power, aimed at providing quicker and more accessible charging for EV users along important travel routes.

Each MegaCharger location is equipped to offer a convenient charging experience, with amenities such as restrooms and dining options at many sites, and customer support that includes monitoring and assistance services. TATA.ev customers receive priority access and tariff benefits at these chargers. The chargers can be located and accessed through the iRA.ev app, which aims to streamline charging operations and simplify payments across different operator networks.
