Tata Technologies announced today that Volvo Cars has selected the company as a strategic engineering supplier, marking an expansion of their existing business relationship. The collaboration will focus on core areas including product engineering, vehicle system and component engineering, embedded software, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions.
The Indian engineering services company will deliver solutions from its global hubs across Sweden, India, Romania, and Poland. Tata Technologies will support Volvo Cars from its Automotive Centre of Excellence in Gothenburg, Sweden, in addition to facilities in the other three countries.
Warren Harris, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Technologies, said the selection demonstrates the company's commitment to delivering automotive software and digital engineering solutions to customers worldwide. He noted that the partnership aligns with the company's vision of engineering solutions that enhance safety, sustainability, and user experience for intelligent vehicles.
Volvo Cars, known for automotive safety and sustainability initiatives, is working to reimagine mobility through electrification, software-defined vehicle platforms, and intelligent in-car experiences. The Swedish automaker has set goals for sustainable growth while offering customers personal, sustainable and safe transportation options.
The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Tata Technologies, which trades on the BSE and NSE under the symbols 544028 and TATATECH respectively, specializes in product engineering and digital transformation services for the automotive industry.
The partnership is expected to enhance Volvo Cars' global engineering capacity by utilizing Tata Technologies' domain expertise, scalable delivery models, and experience in automotive transformation. The arrangement allows Volvo Cars to access engineering resources across multiple geographic locations.
