Tata Technologies announced the successful completion of its second InnoVent hackathon focused on Generative AI applications in manufacturing, at a Demo Day event held in Pune. The initiative, supported by Microsoft and Tata Motors, saw participation from 9,389 students across 267 colleges, generating 2,516 unique projects.

Tata Technologies announced the successful completion of its second InnoVent hackathon focused on Generative AI applications in manufacturing, at a Demo Day event held in Pune. The initiative, supported by Microsoft and Tata Motors, saw participation from 9,389 students across 267 colleges, generating 2,516 unique projects.
Team CodeZephyr from Chandigarh University secured the top position with their sustainable material integration project, winning INR 3,00,000. Spaingit Coder from Thapar Institute and team Pluto from Sri Krishna College of Engineering were awarded second and third places, receiving INR 1,00,000 and INR 50,000 respectively.
The hackathon addressed real-world challenges in the manufacturing sector, with participants leveraging Microsoft Azure's ecosystem for their solutions. A panel of industry leaders, including Tata Technologies CEO Warren Harris and Tata Motors CTO Sven Patuschka, evaluated the final presentations.
Tata Technologies offered career opportunities to all 39 members of the top ten finalist teams, including immediate paid internships to continue developing their projects. The company's Business Excellence team provided over 1,100 hours of Generative AI innovation training and mentoring throughout the competition.
The InnoVent hackathon, launched in June 2024, represents a significant initiative in India's engineering education landscape, focusing on practical applications of Generative AI in manufacturing.
