Tata Sierra Records 70,000 Bookings on First Day

Tata Motors recorded over 70,000 confirmed bookings for the Tata Sierra on the first day of bookings opening, with an additional 1.35 lakh customers submitting their preferred configuration as they progress to complete booking formalities.

The response follows the launch of the all-new Tata Sierra on November 25, 2025, by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. The vehicle is positioned as a premium mid-SUV and is available with three powertrains: the 1.5L Kryojet Diesel, the 1.5L TGDi Hyperion petrol, and the 1.5L NA Revotron petrol.

The Sierra marks the return of a model that was originally part of Tata Motors' lineup over three decades ago. The current version retains design elements from the original while incorporating updated technology and features.

The SUV enters the mid-size segment where it competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and other models. The Sierra is positioned between the Curvv and Harrier in Tata's SUV lineup. With a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh, the Sierra is priced slightly higher than entry-level variants of the Creta and Seltos, though the full variant pricing ranges up to Rs 21.29 lakh for the top Accomplished Plus trim.

Built on Tata's ARGOS (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable) architecture, the platform supports multiple body styles and powertrains. Tata Motors has indicated the Sierra could spawn additional variants in the future, including a seven-seater configuration and an all-wheel-drive version, though no timelines have been confirmed. A pure electric variant is planned for launch within six months of the ICE version.

Deliveries of the Sierra are scheduled to commence on January 15, 2026. The SUV competes in a segment currently dominated by the Hyundai Creta, which has been the best-selling model in this category.
