Tata Power has reported that its electric vehicle (EV) charging network has facilitated over 414 million green miles and 7.5 lakh charging sessions across India, as the country's transition toward electric mobility continues to gather pace.
The company's public charging infrastructure currently comprises more than 5,500 charging points across 700-plus cities and towns, spanning urban centres, highways, workplaces, commercial destinations, and residential communities. In addition to its public network, Tata Power has installed over 2.3 lakh home chargers across the country, in partnership with automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Tata Power has also announced the inauguration of new charging stations at Kopa Mall in Pune, at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) locations on both sides of the Ahmedabad–Vadodara Expressway, and at a Shapoorji Pallonji Mini Hub in Kolkata — the last of which will be equipped with six charging guns. The company says the additions are intended to improve charging access along high-traffic corridors and city hubs.
The announcements come against the backdrop of accelerating EV adoption in India. Domestic EV sales surpassed 2.55 million units in FY2026, with all four vehicle segments registering double-digit growth. Passenger vehicle demand was noted as a particular driver of the increase.
Tata Power is part of the Tata Group and describes itself as one of India's largest integrated power companies, with a total operational and pipeline capacity exceeding 26 GW. The company has stated a target of achieving net zero emissions by 2045.
