Tata Motors has launched the Tata Aeris, the facelift/replacement for its Tigor sub-four-metre compact sedan with prices starting from Rs 5.29 Lakh for the petrol variants and Rs 6.29 Lakh for the CNG variants. The Aeris is structured across five trims: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative, and Accomplished.
Tata Motors said that the Aeris will only be sold to individiual customers, with fleet owners continuing to be sold the older Tigor (rebadged as the Xpres on the fleet model). "Aeris will never enter the fleet segment, creating a clear separation between the two propositions and giving Aeris an identity unmistakably its own," the automaker stated.
Exterior Updates
Visually, the Aeris retains the Tigor’s notchback-style roofline. Updates include a wide lower grille, LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, LED tail-lamps, textured wheel arch cladding, chrome-finished door handles, a dual-tone black roof, and a shark fin antenna.
The Aeris is available across six paint options: Nitro Crimson, Dandeli Drizzle, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey, Dune Glow, and Pristine White.
Powertrain Configuratons
Under the hood, the Aeris retains a 1.2 litre, three-cylinder Revotron powertrain available in petrol and CNG configurations.
In petrol specification, the engine develops 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
The CNG powertrain produces 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm of torque, offered with the same manual and AMT options as the petrol version. The CNG model uses Tata's twin-cylinder tank setup that preserves 419 litres of usable boot capacity.
The fuel capacity is rated at 35 litres for petrol, while the CNG system carries a 70-litre water-capacity tank volume.
Interior Updates
Inside the cabin, the Aeris introduces ventilated front leatherette seats, a factory-fitted digital video recorder dashcam, a blind-view monitor, a dual smartphone deck with wireless charging, and an AMT rotary gear selector with paddle shifters.
Infotainment is managed via a 26.03 cm touchscreen paired with a 12.7 cm digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio setup.
Other cabin features include fully automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning vents, and 65-watt Zipfast USB Type-C charging ports for front and rear passengers.
Aeris Dimensions
The Aeris measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,684 mm in width, and 1,532 mm in height, with a 2,450 mm wheelbase.
Chassis hardware incorporates an independent lower wishbone MacPherson strut front suspension with coil springs and a semi-independent closed-profile twist beam with dual-path struts at the rear.
Braking is handled by front discs and rear drum brakes, with wheels ranging from 14-inch steel wheels on entry variants to 15-inch diamond-cut alloys on higher variants.

Safety Features
On the safety front, the Aeris integrates six standard airbags across all variants, an Electronic Stability Program suite, ABS, hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Isofix child-seat anchors.
The CNG variants incorporate dedicated safety systems, including an integrated single electronic control unit, direct CNG ignition startup, leak detection sensors, and enhanced rear crash structures around the cylinders.

The petrol line-up opens with the Smart manual at Rs 5.29 lakh, moving to Rs 6.14 lakh for the Pure, Rs 6.74 lakh for the Pure+, Rs 7.49 lakh for the Creative, and Rs 8.19 lakh for the Accomplished.
The petrol AMT powertrain is available from the Pure trim onward, priced at Rs 6.69 lakh, Rs 7.29 lakh for Pure+, Rs 8.04 lakh for Creative, and Rs 8.74 lakh for Accomplished.
Across the CNG versions, prices for the CNG manual begin at Rs 6.29 lakh for the Smart persona, progressing to Rs 7.14 lakh for Pure, Rs 7.74 lakh for Pure+, Rs 8.49 lakh for Creative, and Rs 9.19 lakh for Accomplished.
