Tata Motors unveiled an extensive range of commercial vehicles and industrial aggregates at EXCON 2025, marking significant advances in the construction and mining equipment sectors.
The company launched the Prima 3540.K AutoShift, its most powerful tipper designed specifically for deep mining applications. Powered by a Cummins 8.5L engine, the vehicle delivers 375 horsepower and 1800Nm of torque, featuring a 12-speed automated manual transmission for enhanced operational efficiency.
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head for Trucks at Tata Motors, emphasized the strategic importance of the launches. The Prima 3540.K represents the manufacturer's entry into the deep mining segment, engineered to meet demanding operational conditions while maintaining fuel efficiency and reliability.
The company also introduced the Prima E.28K, a 28-tonne battery-electric tipper designed for zero-emission operations across shallow mining, mineral movement, and port applications. This launch aligns with growing industry demand for sustainable transportation solutions in heavy-duty applications.
Another notable introduction was the Signa 2820.TK CNG, India's first factory-fitted compressed natural gas tipper in the 28-tonne category. The vehicle aims to deliver lower total cost of ownership while supporting sustainable construction operations.
Additional vehicles on display included the Signa 4832.TK, described as the country's first 48-tonne, five-axle tipper with a 32-cubic-meter load body for coal movement, and the Prima 3532.TK, which offers a 26-cubic-meter load body for construction aggregate transportation.
Tata Motors also presented its aggregates portfolio, including newly introduced 15 kVA and 35 kVA gensets, CEV BS V-compliant industrial engines for construction equipment, and various axle systems designed for durability and high load-bearing applications.
Vikram Agrawal, Head of Spares and Non-Vehicular Business at Tata Motors, highlighted the company's focus on performance and operational uptime through its expanded aggregate offerings.
The commercial vehicles are supported by the Sampoorna Seva 2.0 initiative and Fleet Edge, a digital platform designed to enable fleet management and reduce total cost of ownership through comprehensive lifecycle management services.
Tata Motors, part of the $180 billion Tata Group, operates as India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer with over eight decades of industry experience. Following a corporate restructuring sanctioned in October 2025, the company continues operations under the Tata Motors Limited name, with equity shares listed on the BSE and National Stock Exchange of India.
