Tata Motors Reaches 25,000 Public Charging Stations for Electric SCVs

Tata Motors announced that over 25,000 public charging stations are now accessible to customers of electric small commercial vehicles (SCVs), spanning more than 150 cities across India, as the company signed agreements with 13 charging point operators to install an additional 25,000 chargers over the next 12 months.

The existing charging infrastructure covers key logistics hubs in major cities including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. All charger locations are integrated into Fleet Edge, Tata Motors' connected vehicle platform, providing real-time navigation and availability information to customers.

The company has signed Memorandums of Understanding with A Plus Charge, Ampvolts, chargeMOD, Charge Zone, Electric Fuel, Envo The Sustainer, EV Spot Charge, Kazam, Nikol EV, Sonik Mobility, Thunderplus Solutions, Volttic, and Zeon Electric to expand the charging network.

Tata Motors currently operates over 10,000 Ace EVs that have collectively covered more than 6 crore kilometers. The company's electric SCV lineup includes the Ace Pro EV, Ace EV, and Ace EV 1000, designed for urban and semi-urban cargo applications.

"Crossing the 25,000 public charging station mark is a pivotal milestone in our commitment to advancing electric cargo mobility and its enabling ecosystem," said Pinaki Haldar, Vice President & Business Head, SCVPU, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles. "With over 10,000 Ace EVs already deployed and having collectively covered more than 6 crore km, we're seeing growing confidence among customers and transporters in the benefits of using four-wheel electric commercial vehicles."

The announcement represents a significant expansion of charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicles in India. The strategic placement across logistics hubs aims to address range anxiety and operational efficiency concerns among last-mile delivery operators.

"While we continue to innovate and deliver reliable, high-performance e-cargo vehicles, we remain equally focused on expanding infrastructure access through strategic collaborations," Haldar added. "This partnership with India's leading Charging Point Operators underscores our dedication to building a robust support network and enabling profitable, zero-emission logistics for entrepreneurs and transporters across the country."

To support its growing EV customer base, Tata Motors has established over 200 dedicated EV support centers across India, providing service and technical assistance. The company's commercial vehicles offer multiple load deck configurations and payload options for varied business applications.

The Fleet Edge platform integration ensures customers can locate available charging stations, check real-time availability, and navigate to the nearest charging point, addressing one of the key operational challenges in electric commercial vehicle adoption.

Tata Motors, part of the USD 180 billion Tata group, is India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and market leader in the commercial vehicle segment. The company ranks among the top three in the passenger vehicle market and has positioned itself as a pioneer in India's electric vehicle transition.
