Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Reports 42 Percent Sales Volume Increase in May

The carmaker consolidated its position as the second largest player in the domestic market while electric vehicle sales surged 85% to cross the 10,000 unit threshold.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited has posted a 42 percent year on year growth in total sale volumes, with overall sales reaching 59,790 units in May 2026 compared to 42,040 units during the same month last year.

Within the domestic market, passenger vehicle wholesales rose 42 percent to 59,090 units from 41,557 units in May 2025. The company's international business shipments experienced a 45 percent increase, climbing to 700 units from 483 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.

The manufacturer's electric vehicle segment, which includes data from its subsidiary Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, registered a significant sales acceleration during the month. Combined domestic and export electric vehicle volumes expanded by 85 percent to hit a monthly high of 10,517 units, up from 5,685 units recorded in May 2025.
