Tata Motors launches Prima 4440.S AMT Truck in Saudi Arabia

Tata Motors debuts its first automated manual transmission truck in Saudi Arabia, showcasing advanced features and high-performance vehicles at the HEAT show, tailored to meet the Kingdom’s diverse transportation and logistics needs.

Tata Motors has launched its first Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) truck, the Prima 4440.S AMT, in Saudi Arabia. Built on the company's flagship Prima platform, the truck is designed to combine driver comfort, fuel efficiency, and reliable performance. It features a robust drivetrain, durable components, and a comfortable cabin to enhance productivity and profitability for customers.  

At the Heavy Equipment and Trucks (HEAT) Show in Dammam, Tata Motors also showcased five high-performance commercial vehicles. These trucks are tailored to meet the transportation and logistics needs of the Saudi Arabian market, catering to various applications.  

During the unveiling of the Tata Motors pavilion at the HEAT show, Anurag Mehrotra, Head of International Business for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, highlighted the significance of Saudi Arabia as a key market. He noted that Tata Motors has a long-standing presence in the region and is focused on providing advanced solutions to meet the country’s evolving mobility demands. He emphasized that the Prima 4440.S AMT is designed to deliver reliability, performance, and smart features to support the Kingdom's growth and provide value to customers.  

Tata Motors collaborates with its distributor, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co., to offer value-added services, including access to a wide service network, skilled technicians, and genuine spare parts. This partnership is intended to enhance vehicle uptime and overall customer satisfaction.  

Azeem Khan, Managing Director of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Co., expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that the introduction of the Prima 4440.S AMT would help meet the evolving needs of customers in Saudi Arabia. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to after-sales support and maintaining seamless operations through its strong service network.  

The Prima 4440.S AMT is suitable for transporting containers, cars, and heavy equipment. It includes features such as a Load-Based Speed Control System, Shift-Down Protection, Vehicle Acceleration Management, and Auto Start-Stop, all of which aim to improve fuel efficiency.

Powered by a Euro-V compliant 8.9-litre Cummins engine, the truck delivers 400bhp and 1700Nm of torque, ensuring it can handle heavy loads and challenging terrains. The truck also features pneumatic suspension for improved ride quality and durability. Its cabin, equipped with a pneumatically suspended seat and adjustable steering, is designed for driver comfort and convenience.  

Tata Motors’ other vehicles displayed at the HEAT show included the Prima 4440.S, suitable for transporting containers, cars, and heavy equipment; the Prima 4040.T, designed for fuel, water, and sewage transportation; the Prima 4040.K, intended for heavy-duty applications in construction and infrastructure; and the Ultra T.7, tailored for urban transportation needs.  

Tata Motors operates in over 40 countries, offering a diverse commercial vehicle portfolio ranging from sub-1-tonne to 60-tonne cargo vehicles and mass mobility solutions seating up to 71 passengers. These vehicles are engineered and tested to meet the requirements of local markets.
