Tata Motors Launches Petrol Variants of Harrier and Safari SUVs Starting at ₹12.89 Lakh

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited has announced pricing for the petrol-powered versions of its Harrier and Safari SUVs, introducing the new 1.5L HYPERION Turbo-GDi engine to its popular lineup.

The Harrier petrol is available at an introductory price of ₹12.89 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the Safari petrol starts at ₹13.29 lakh. Both vehicles are now offered with the company's latest petrol powertrain, complementing the existing diesel options.

The new engine produces 170 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. According to Tata Motors, the vehicles achieve segment-leading fuel efficiency, with the Harrier receiving recognition from the India Book of Records for maximum fuel efficiency achieved by a petrol manual SUV in 12 hours.

Both SUVs feature technology upgrades including a 36.9 cm infotainment display with Samsung NeoQLED technology, Dolby Atmos audio with a 10-speaker JBL system, and VisionX E-IRVM with integrated dual dash cam. Additional features include memory-equipped outside rearview mirrors and a dual camera washer system.

Safety remains a priority, with all petrol variants achieving a five-star Bharat NCAP rating, making the entire Harrier and Safari range five-star certified across all powertrain options.

The Harrier petrol range spans eight variants priced between ₹12.89 lakh and ₹24.68 lakh, while the Safari petrol offers ten variants ranging from ₹13.29 lakh to ₹25.19 lakh. Both vehicles are available with manual and automatic transmission options.

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, emphasized that the new powertrain enhances the vehicles' existing strengths in design, performance, and safety. With over 250,000 units already on Indian roads, the Harrier and Safari have established themselves in the premium SUV segment.

The petrol variants are now available for booking at Tata Motors dealerships across India.
