Tata Motors has launched its first Euro VI-compliant bus in the Middle East through its official distributor Al Hamad Automobiles in Qatar. The LPO 1622 bus is designed for staff transportation and was unveiled in Doha on June 18, 2025.
The vehicle features a Cummins ISBe 5.6L Euro VI-compliant engine that produces 220 horsepower and 925Nm of torque. The bus is available in two seating configurations, accommodating either 61 or 65 passengers. Standard safety equipment includes a full air dual-circuit braking system with ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Cruise Control.
Asif Shamim, Head of International Business for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said the Middle East remains a strategic focus for the company. He noted that Qatar represents a key market where Tata Motors aims to strengthen its presence through products designed to offer operational efficiency for customers.
Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of Al Hamad Automobiles, emphasized the long-standing partnership between the two companies. Al Hamad Automobiles will provide after-sales support through its service network and spare parts availability across Qatar.
The launch coincided with the introduction of an updated Prima range of heavy trucks, including the Prima 4040.K, Prima 4440.S, Prima 4040.T, and Prima 6040.S models. These Euro V-compliant vehicles target Qatar's infrastructure and construction sectors.
Tata Motors operates in over 40 countries and offers commercial vehicles ranging from sub-1-tonne to 60-tonne cargo capacity. The company also produces passenger vehicles from 9-seater to 71-seater configurations. Founded as part of the Tata Group, the company reported revenues of $44 billion and maintains research and development centers in India, the UK, the US, Italy, and South Korea.
Al Hamad Automobiles was established in 1998 and operates as part of the Al Mana Holding Group. The company serves as a distributor for various automotive brands in Qatar's market.
