Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles announced that it has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program across its full electric vehicle line-up. Initially introduced for the Tiago.ev hatchback and Punch.ev compact SUV, the dual-loan financing framework now covers the Nexon.ev, Curvv.ev, Sierra.ev, and Harrier.ev.
Introductory prices for the EVs see a considerable drop with the BaaS programme, starting from Rs 4.69 lakh for the Tiago.ev, Rs 6.59 lakh for the Punch.ev, Rs 8.99 lakh for the Nexon.ev, Rs 10.99 lakh for the Curvv.ev, Rs 11.99 lakh for the Sierra.ev and Rs 14.49 lakh for the Harrier.ev.
Tata EV BaaS Per-Km Cost by Model
Per-kilometre BaaS prices (based on an estimated 60 km daily run) start at Rs 2.6 per km for the Punch.ev, Rs 4.4 per km for the Nexon.ev, Rs 5 per km for the Curvv.ev, Rs 5.5 per km for the Sierra.ev and Rs 5.9 per km for the Harrier.ev. The Tiago.ev is priced at Rs 2.6 per km albeit on an estimated 44 km daily run.
How Tata's Battery-as-a-Service Dual-Loan Model Works
Under the structure, the car and its battery are financed through separate loan accounts with independent tenures, lowering initial vehicle acquisition costs across segments. Tata said battery equated monthly instalments are determined by pack capacity, down payment terms, and loan duration, with operational charging expenses, maintenance, and vehicle repairs excluded from the battery fee.
Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Motors, said, "As BaaS becomes an increasingly visible construct in the EV market, we want to ensure that customers evaluating a TATA.ev have complete flexibility to make a fair and transparent comparison. Extending BaaS across our portfolio gives them precisely that choice."
