Tata Motors EV Volumes Rise 2.4 Times

Tata Motors said its electric vehicle volumes increased 2.4 times year on year in Q2 FY27. The release does not provide the corresponding absolute EV volume.

Tata Motors MD and CEO Girish Wagh said the company saw demand across commercial vehicle segments during the quarter. He pointed to infrastructure, construction and mining activity for HCVs, while e-commerce, FMCG, FMCD and two-wheeler logistics supported ILMCVs. Consumption-led freight movements supported SCV and pickup volumes, while passenger transportation benefited from last-mile mobility, government orders and intercity travel.

The company identified commodity costs, diesel prices, possible interest-rate increases and global uncertainties as key factors to monitor. It also expects government capital expenditure, mining and construction activity, e-commerce volumes and the festive season to influence freight and transportation demand in the second half of FY27.
