Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Net Profit Rises 83 Percent in Q1 FY27
Commercial vehicle standalone revenue increases 23 percent despite commodity cost pressure.
Tata Motors Limited has posted a consolidated net profit after tax of Rs 2,600 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, marking an 83 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
On a standalone basis, the commercial vehicle business recorded revenue from operations of Rs 19,329 crore in Q1 FY27, up 23 percent from Rs 15,682 crore in Q1 FY26. Standalone profit before tax before exceptional items grew 26 percent to Rs 2,057 crore. The standalone EBITDA margin stood at 11.7 percent compared to 12.3 percent in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting impact from rising input commodity costs. Standalone profit after tax reached Rs 1,500 crore, while free cash flow generated during the quarter rose to Rs 1,114 crore.

Total wholesale volume for the quarter reached 108,700 units, representing a 26 percent year-on-year increase. Domestic sales volume grew by 26 percent, while export shipments registered a 35 percent rise. According to VAHAN registration data, the company's overall domestic commercial vehicle market share reached 36.8 percent during the quarter, reflecting a sequential gain of 100 basis points.
"The commercial vehicle industry remained resilient in Q1 FY27, supported by India's strong economic fundamentals, healthy fleet utilization, and sustained demand across key sectors," said Girish Wagh, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Limited.
