Tata Motors Limited reported total commercial vehicle sales of 34,833 units for April 2026, marking a 28 percent year on year increase from the 27,221 units sold in the same month last year. The company recorded a 27.9 percent growth in its domestic operations, dispatching 32,965 units compared to 25,764 units in April 2025. International business volumes also increased by 28.2 percent, reaching 1,868 units against the 1,457 units shipped during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Growth was observed across all major commercial vehicle categories during the month. The small commercial vehicle cargo and pickup segment registered the highest growth rate at 40.2 percent, with sales reaching 12,799 units compared to 9,131 units in April 2025. Heavy commercial vehicle trucks saw a 23.4 percent volume increase to 8,969 units from 7,270 units previously. The intermediate, light, and medium commercial vehicle truck category accounted for 5,454 units, representing a 16.5 percent rise from the 4,680 units sold a year ago. Additionally, passenger carrier sales grew by 22.6 percent to 5,743 units from 4,683 units in the prior year.
Within the broader medium, heavy, and intermediate commercial vehicle segment, domestic sales stood at 14,565 units for the month, an increase from the 12,093 units reported in April 2025. When factoring in international sales, the total volume for this segment reached 15,403 units against 12,760 units in the previous year.
