Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with commercial EV leasing platform Drivn to introduce bespoke leasing and financing models for electric commercial vehicles across India.
How the Tata Motors-Drivn Partnership Tackles Fleet Financing Barriers
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to deploy more than 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years. The partnership focuses on addressing primary market hurdles for fleet operators, including high upfront acquisition costs, asset utilization, charging infrastructure planning, and vehicle deployment timelines.
Tata's Electric Truck Range Under the Trucks.ev Brand
The initiative will leverage Tata Motors' recently introduced electric truck range, spanning gross vehicle weights from 7 to 55 tonnes. Built on the Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle (IMOEV) architecture under the Tata Trucks.ev brand, the portfolio caters to multiple logistics segments such as e-commerce distribution, construction material hauling, and port operations.
"Tata Motors is committed to democratising clean mobility and accelerating India's transition towards sustainable transportation," said Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head of Trucks at Tata Motors Ltd. "Together with Drivn, we aim to make electric trucks more accessible to our customers. Our electric trucks portfolio has been engineered to deliver performance, reliability and operating economics that meet the evolving needs of our customers."
