Tata Hitachi Launches Two New Excavators at BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2026
The construction machinery manufacturer debuts the NX30 neo and ZAXIS 40U compact excavators at the industry's largest trade fair in South Asia, alongside 11 other machines, a full range of attachments and digital fleet management tools.
Tata Hitachi is presenting 13 machines and multiple attachments at BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA 2026, including two new product launches targeting the compact construction equipment segment, as India's infrastructure development activity continues to drive demand for construction machinery.
The company launched the NX30 neo and the ZAXIS 40U — both mini excavators — at the exhibition, which opened on September 15 in Noida. The ZAXIS 40U comes equipped with an air-conditioned cabin, a feature that addresses operator comfort in India's working conditions. Both machines expand Tata Hitachi's presence in the compact equipment category, which has seen rising demand in urban construction, utility work and specialised applications where larger machines are impractical or cost-prohibitive.
Tata Hitachi NX Series Expands With Two New Mini Excavators
The two launches extend the company's NX Series, which already includes the NX50 and NX80, and signals a continued push into smaller-format equipment as contractors increasingly seek machines suited to confined job sites and mixed-use projects.
Full Line-up: 13 Machines on Display at Bauma Conexpo India 2026
The broader display at the pavilion spans mini excavators, a battery-electric excavator, construction excavators ranging from 14 to 35 tonnes, backhoe loaders and a wheel loader. The full line-up includes the e-33U electric excavator, the NX50, NX80, SHINRAI Prime, SHINRAI Pro backhoe loaders, ZAXIS 140H, EX 210LC Value+, EX 215LC Prime, ZAXIS 220LC Ultra, EX 350LC Prime and the TL 340H Prime wheel loader. The range covers applications from general construction and infrastructure projects to more demanding excavation and material-handling tasks.
Tata Hitachi Showcases e-33U Electric Excavator
The inclusion of the e-33U electric excavator reflects a broader shift in the industry toward lower-emission equipment. While electric construction machinery remains a niche segment in India, manufacturers have begun introducing battery-powered models in response to tightening emissions regulations and growing interest from contractors working in environmentally sensitive or enclosed environments.
Attachments Range Boosts Machine Versatility
Alongside the machines, Tata Hitachi is showcasing an extensive range of attachments — including rock breakers, bucket crushers, bucket screeners, a drum cutter, pulverizer, shear and a thumb attachment — aimed at demonstrating how a single base machine can be configured for multiple job types. The company positions attachments as a way for contractors to improve equipment utilisation and reduce the need for multiple dedicated machines on a project site.
ConSite and InSite Telematics for Fleet Management
The pavilion also highlights the company's telematics platforms, ConSite and InSite, which allow equipment operators and fleet managers to monitor machine health, fuel consumption and operational parameters remotely. Tata Hitachi has been expanding its digital service offerings as fleet owners seek more data-driven approaches to maintenance scheduling and equipment management, areas that have a direct bearing on project costs and machine downtime.
About Tata Hitachi
In addition to machinery and technology, the pavilion includes a branded merchandise outlet, the Tata Hitachi Brand Store, where visitors can purchase company-branded products — an increasingly common feature at large trade exhibitions as manufacturers look to deepen brand engagement beyond the transaction.
Tata Hitachi is a joint venture between Tata Motors and Hitachi Construction Machinery, established in 1984 and one of the longer-running industrial partnerships of its kind in India. The company manufactures equipment at facilities in Dharwad, Karnataka and Kharagpur, West Bengal, and operates more than 275 sales and service touchpoints across the country. Its product portfolio covers mini excavators, construction and mining excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders and dump trucks, alongside parts and service operations.
