Tata AutoComp Opens Two Manufacturing Plants in Sanand

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited inaugurated two manufacturing plants in Sanand, Gujarat, on January 30, 2026. The facilities will produce automotive seating systems and thermal solutions for vehicles.

The plants are operated by two business units: TM Automotive Seating Systems Private Limited and TACO Air International Thermal Systems Private Limited. With these additions, Tata AutoComp now runs more than eight plants in the Sanand area.

The expansion supports the company's supply to original equipment manufacturers, including Tata Motors Limited, and its export operations. The inauguration ceremonies were attended by executives from both Tata Motors and Tata AutoComp Systems, including Sudhir Chikhle, Chief Purchasing Officer for passenger and electric vehicles at Tata Motors, and Manoj Kolhatkar, managing director and CEO of Tata AutoComp Systems.

Arvind Goel, vice-chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems, said the Sanand location provides proximity to customers and access to a vendor ecosystem. The company plans to establish additional plants across India this year, he added.

Kolhatkar said the plants are designed to support next-generation mobility platforms in India. He emphasized that people, quality, safety, and environment remain priorities as the company expands manufacturing capacity.

Chikhle described Tata AutoComp as a valued partner that demonstrates a customer-focused approach and supports Tata Motors across its programs.

Tata AutoComp Systems operates through 22 business units, including 11 joint ventures, with over 65 manufacturing plants across the United States, Europe, Latin America, India, and China. The company employs more than 20,000 people and supplies components to major automotive manufacturers across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and rail segments.

TM Automotive Seating Systems is a joint venture formed in 2015 between Tata AutoComp Systems and MAGNA Seating of the United States. The unit produces seating systems for automotive, off-road, and railway applications.

TACO Air International Thermal Systems is a joint venture between Tata AutoComp Systems and Air International Thermal Systems. The company manufactures HVAC systems, battery thermal management systems, and compressors for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and buses, with a focus on electric and alternative energy vehicles.
