SWITCH Mobility and Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly establish a Skill Development Centre for electric vehicle (EV) technology at the college. The centre will focus on technical and practical training related to electric commercial vehicles and is intended to address industry skill requirements.
The centre will provide training covering EV systems, charging infrastructure, battery technologies, power electronics and emerging mobility solutions. According to SWITCH Mobility, the facility will provide practical industrial exposure and skill development for various stakeholders.
EV Skill Development Centre To Focus On Commercial Vehicle Technologies
The proposed centre at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering will combine industry expertise with academic learning. SWITCH Mobility Chief Commercial Officer R G Venkataraman said the company would provide technical expertise and support under the MoU, with the programme including practical industrial exposure and learning.
The college said the facility would provide hands-on exposure to EV technologies and create a practical learning environment for students. The programme is also intended to support skill development aligned with the requirements of the electric mobility industry.
Centre To Cover EV Systems, Batteries And Charging Infrastructure
The training centre will cover real-world EV systems along with charging infrastructure, battery technologies and power electronics. The release describes the initiative as a dedicated EV technology skill development facility at Hosur and says it will focus on the practical aspects of electric commercial vehicles.
SWITCH Mobility said the collaboration is aimed at strengthening the EV talent pipeline by combining industry expertise and academic learning. The company said the centre will support the development of a skilled workforce for India's electric vehicle industry.
