The Suzuki Vision E-Sky will be one of the stars of the brand’s passenger car display at the upcoming Japan Mobility show 2025. The Vision E-Sky is a tall boy hatchback style electric concept that previews a future production hatchback for Japan’s minicar segment. The Vision E-Sky follows in the footsteps of the Concept EWX unveiled in 2023, but appears significantly closer to production, hinting at Suzuki’s next-generation urban EV strategy for its home market.
Suzuki Vision E-Sky: Dimensions and design
Staying true to kei car regulations, Suzuki has confirmed the Vision E-Sky measures 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width and 1,625mm in height, keeping it within Japan’s strict minicar limits. Like most kei EVs, it adopts a tallboy layout to maximise cabin space within a compact footprint. Visually, the E-Sky carries a clean, futuristic look with minimalist surfacing and upright proportions that prioritise practicality over flair — typical of Suzuki’s approach to compact city cars.
Suzuki Vision E-Sky: Interior and range
Inside, the Vision E-Sky looks almost production-ready. It features a dual-tone cabin, twin digital displays, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and a dash-mounted drive selector. Suzuki has also added quirky concept touches, like a potted plant placed on the far end of the dashboard — something unlikely to make it to the final version. Expect a slightly mellowed down interior treatment on the production car.
In terms of performance, Suzuki says the Vision E-Sky will offer a range of up to 270km — a notable improvement over the 230km claimed by the earlier Concept EWX. The production version is expected to use a 20–25kWh battery pack, balancing efficiency with cost-effectiveness for everyday urban use.
Production plans and India connection
Suzuki has confirmed that the production version of the Vision E-Sky will go on sale in FY2026, underlining how close the concept is to reality and we expect the car to go on sale in Japan initially. For India, Maruti Suzuki is preparing a broader electrification push — with four new EVs due by 2030, alongside plans to introduce strong-hybrid powertrains for its mass-market models. The company’s first electric vehicle, the eVitara, is already in mass production at its Gujarat facility and is being exported to many markets currently. An India launch is expected for the eVitara in the coming months.
