Suzuki Motorcycle India Posts 8% Sales Growth in September 2026
The two-wheeler maker sold 1,33,688 units last month, with domestic volumes up 3% and exports surging 41% year-on-year, as the festive season gets underway.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) sold 1,33,688 units in September 2026, an 8% increase from the 1,23,550 units it recorded in the same month last year, the company announced on Wednesday. The results come at the start of India's festive season — a period that typically drives a significant uptick in two-wheeler purchases across the country.
Domestic sales for the month reached 1,08,806 units, up 3% from 1,05,886 units in September 2025. While the domestic growth rate was modest, it came against a relatively high base from the previous year, when a round of GST reform measures had bolstered consumer demand. Export volumes told a different story, climbing 41% year-on-year to 24,882 units from 17,664 units in September 2025, pointing to growing demand for Suzuki's two-wheelers in overseas markets.
Combined, domestic and export figures brought total dispatches to 1,33,688 units for the month, adding to what has been a period of consistent volume growth for the company.
Beyond vehicle sales, SMIPL's spare parts business recorded its highest-ever monthly revenue in September 2026, reaching ₹1,112 million — a 26% increase from ₹881 million in September 2025. The spare parts segment, which reflects both fleet size and after-sales activity, has been growing alongside the company's expanding customer base in India.
On the product front, SMIPL used September to refresh parts of its lineup. New colour options were added across the GIXXER series, covering the GIXXER, GIXXER SF, GIXXER 250, GIXXER SF 250, and GIXXER SF 250 FFV models. The updates were primarily aesthetic, retaining the existing mechanical specifications of the range. The company also launched a Hayabusa Special Edition during the month, featuring exclusive styling elements, updated colour options, and refinements to its rider-assistance electronics. The Hayabusa, positioned at the top end of Suzuki's India portfolio, is among the more recognisable names in the large-displacement motorcycle segment.
In parallel, SMIPL ran a series of customer-facing events across the country. A ride event called Road to Matsuri in Ludhiana drew more than 500 participants for test rides and community activities. In Coimbatore, an Avenis Ride & Reel event combined riding sessions with content creation activities, including a tie-up with social media influencers.
GIXXER Pitstop events were held across eight cities — Delhi, Trichy, Ongole, Hyderabad, Surat, Silchar, Ranchi, and Bhubaneswar — giving riders direct access to the motorcycle range. The company also organised a fuel-efficiency contest for Access scooter owners in Sirsa.
SMIPL is the Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan and has been present in the country since February 2006. Its manufacturing facility is located in Kherki Daula, Gurugram, Haryana, and produces scooters in the 125cc segment alongside motorcycles ranging from 150cc to large-displacement models. The two-wheeler market in India is among the largest in the world by volume, and the festive months of October and November are closely watched by manufacturers as a barometer of annual demand trends.
