Suzuki Motorcycle India Launches OBD-2B Compliant Avenis Standard Variant

New scooter variant meets latest emission standards while expanding the Avenis lineup with fuel-efficient 124cc engine priced at INR 91,400 ex-showroom Delhi

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has launched the OBD-2B compliant Avenis Standard Variant on May 17, 2025, in Gurugram. The new variant complies with the latest emission norms while making the Avenis range more accessible to consumers.

The scooter is powered by a 124.3cc, aluminum 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine that delivers 8.7 PS at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm. It utilizes Suzuki's Eco Performance technology to balance power and fuel efficiency.

"The launch of the OBD-2B compliant Suzuki Avenis Standard Variant reflects our focus on delivering products that meet the latest environmental standards without compromising on performance or convenience," said Deepak Mutreja, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SMIPL.

The Avenis Standard features a digital meter displaying information including battery voltage, oil change indicator, engine temperature, fuel gauge, and instantaneous fuel consumption. It comes equipped with LED headlamp and tail lamp, Suzuki Easy Start System, side stand interlock, and 21.8L under-seat storage.

Available in four color options—Glossy Sparkle Black/Pearl Glacier White, Glossy Sparkle Black/Pearl Mira Red, Champion Yellow No. 2/Glossy Sparkle Black, and Glossy Sparkle Black—the scooter is priced at INR 91,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

SMIPL, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, began operations in India in February 2006. The company operates from its manufacturing plant in Kherki Daula, Gurugram, with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million units. The facility produces 125cc scooters and premium motorcycles of 150cc and above, catering to the Indian market.
