Suzuki eWX concept global debut at Tokyo
Suzuki eWX concept seems to target Japanese Kei car owners looking to transition to an EV.
Suzuki will bring a slew of concepts at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show 2023. We've already brought you details about the eVX EV SUV coming to the event along with the all-new Swift that will see a world premiere. Suzuki will also bring a tiny eWX EV concept at the show that previews a future city EV hatchback.
Suzuki eWX previews future city EV
Going by its 3.4-metre length, the eWX concept seems to be aimed at existing Kei car buyers in Japan who would like to switch to an EV. The vehicle still has a lot of concept-like styling cues all around. The overall styling, however, looks a bit WagonR-ish but as far as dimensions go, the concept is even smaller than the S-Presso sold in our market.
The dual-tone exterior theme runs across the body and there are subtle fluorescent trims on all sides to add to the concept’s appeal. The front is slab-sided with C-shaped headlamps and a closed-off grille, and the wheel covers also get a funky look with subtle fluorescent highlights. The upright rear again features C-shaped tail-lamps and a slab-sided tailgate to complete the boxy look.
Suzuki has not shared any powertrain details as yet, but it will be safe to expect a single-motor setup. The brand has claimed that this concept can deliver a 230km range.
Will Suzuki eWX come to India?
Not anytime soon. Maruti is readying a Creta-sized SUV, which will essentially be the production version of the eVX concept. Read more on that here.
