SUMEET SSG to Equip 1,756 Maharashtra Ambulances with Spencer India Emergency Medical Equipment
The deal covers the full MEMS 108 fleet under a multi-year phased deployment.
SUMEET SSG on Monday announced a partnership with Spencer India, the Indian arm of Italy-based Spencer Italia S.r.l., to supply emergency medical equipment across all 1,756 ambulances operating under Maharashtra's MEMS 108 emergency medical services network. The equipment — including stretchers, evacuation systems, immobilisation devices, and oxygen delivery systems — is certified to European standards. Deployment will be phased over multiple years.
SUMEET SSG BVG Maharashtra EMS is a joint venture between Sumeet Group, BVG India Ltd., and SSG Transporte Sanitario of Spain, established in 2024 to operate statewide emergency medical services under a 10-year PPP-DBFOT model with the Government of Maharashtra.
Summit Salunke, Chairman, SUMEET SSG, said, "Our partnership with Spencer marks a defining moment for emergency medical services in India. MEMS 108 is not just a fleet; it is a complete life-saving ecosystem. By integrating globally proven equipment, we are ensuring that every ambulance in Maharashtra meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and clinical excellence."
Manish Malik, MD, Spencer India, said, "The partnership will be carried out over a multi-year period, with phased deployment beginning in the near term and full fleet integration expected in subsequent phases, positioning MEMS 108 among the first state-wide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) networks in India to adopt a fully European-standard pre-hospital care ecosystem at scale."
The equipment package includes advanced and scoop stretchers, transport chairs, neck and spine immobilisation systems, patented rescue and evacuation systems, oxygen delivery systems, and PPE kits. Spencer India is part of Spencer Italia S.r.l., which manufactures emergency medical equipment across more than 160 countries.
