STUDDS Adds New Decal Variant to Helios Full-Face Helmet

STUDDS Accessories Ltd. has launched the Helios Effect, a new decal variant of its Helios full-face helmet. The product is available in six colour options across three head sizes, with prices starting at INR 3,445 (MRP, inclusive of all taxes). The announcement was made on 26 May 2026 from New Delhi.

The Helios Effect slots into an existing range that includes the Unicolor, D1 Asphalt, D2 Circuit, and Superman Edition, making it the fifth graphic variant in the Helios family. It is offered in both gloss and matte finishes across six colour combinations: Black & Chameleon Blue, Black Grey & Red, Black White & Red, Black & Red (with Metallic Foil), Black & Grey, and Black Blue & White. Head sizes available are Medium (57 cm), Large (58 cm), and Extra-Large (60 cm).

The helmet is available through offline retail outlets and STUDDS exclusive stores. The company said availability on online marketplaces is underway.

The Helios was originally developed with Southeast Asian riders in mind and launched first in the Philippines, where it established a presence in a competitive full-face segment. From there, the model expanded into Colombia, Mexico, and a number of other international markets before STUDDS introduced it to India. In the Indian market, it has since grown into one of the company's more prominent full-face offerings.

The introduction of new decal variants has become a recurring feature of the Helios range as the model has matured. The Effect follows the same pattern — retaining the underlying platform while updating the visual identity for a new release cycle.

Managing Director Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana commented on the launch, saying the Helios had been designed for riders who want a full-face helmet that does not compromise on features or protection, and that the Effect gives that product "a more expressive graphic identity."

The Effect graphic is built around large polygonal planes that divide the shell into distinct colour zones using hard, straight edges. Colour fields on the jaw and side panels narrow toward the crown of the helmet, and the graphic framing around the ventilation openings draws attention to the shell's functional architecture. The Helios name is integrated into the vent ridge rather than applied separately.

Each of the six colour options carries a distinct character. The Black & Chameleon Blue uses iridescent pigment that shifts between turquoise and green depending on the viewing angle and ambient light. The Black & Red Metallic Foil variant applies foil to select panels rather than standard paint, producing a higher-intensity light reflection that paint cannot replicate. The remaining four variants move across a range of two-tone contrast, tonal restraint, and deep navy combinations.

The outer shell is injection-moulded from high-impact ABS thermoplastic and the complete helmet weighs 1,400 grams. It carries ISI certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards under IS 4151 and DOT certification under FMVSS No. 218, meeting the mandatory safety standards in India and the United States respectively. The shell profile incorporates a rear aerodynamic spoiler intended to improve stability at highway speeds.

The visor system uses a silicone coating on both a clear outer visor and a smoked inner sun visor. The silicone layer reduces dust adhesion and maintains consistent operation over time. The inner sun visor can be deployed or retracted to manage changing light conditions without stopping to swap out the main outer visor. An anti-fog film bonded to the inner face of the outer visor is rated for 100 seconds of fog resistance — a figure the company describes as three times the prevailing industry standard — maintaining visibility in cold, humid, and wet conditions. The visor is detachable via a single-touch mechanism that requires no tools, allowing for quick field cleaning or replacement.

The impact liner is constructed from regulated-density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), with different density zones calibrated to distribute and absorb impact energy across specific areas of the head. The interior padding uses hypoallergenic material intended to reduce the risk of skin irritation during extended wear, and is removable and washable. A lower trim section also detaches independently for cleaning or replacement.

Cataphote retro-reflective material embedded in the inner lining and rear collar returns light from approaching vehicle headlights toward their source, increasing rider visibility in low-light conditions without any visible effect on the helmet's daylight appearance. Dedicated recesses in the cheek pads accommodate spectacle arms, and ear pockets in the liner are sized to accept audio devices or intercom speakers. The chin strap uses a stainless steel quick-release buckle operable with one hand. Across all colour variants, the paint finish is UV resistant.

A front-to-rear ventilation system draws fresh air through intake vents at the front and expels accumulated heat through exhaust ports at the rear. The vent openings are integrated into the shell geometry rather than mounted on its surface.

STUDDS Accessories Ltd. has been manufacturing two-wheeler helmets for more than five decades. The company operates three manufacturing facilities with a combined annualised production capacity of 9.04 million units and sold approximately 7.10 million helmets in Fiscal 2024. It markets products under the Studds and SMK brands across more than 70 countries, with export markets spanning the Americas, Asia, Europe, and other regions.
