Stellantis Chairman John Elkann visits Maserati's Modena Headquarters

John Elkann, chairman of Stellantis, visited Maserati's historic headquarters in Modena as part of a global tour of the company’s sites and plants. The visit comes after Elkann’s recent trip to Auburn Hills in the United States and highlights his commitment to engaging with the workforce amidst challenging times for the industry.

At the Viale Ciro Menotti plant, Elkann met with Maserati CEO Santo Ficili, the leadership team, the newly established Engineering team, and other colleagues. The Modena site, home to Maserati for 110 years, remains central to the luxury brand's operations, embodying its focus on performance, innovation, design, quality, and technology.

Maserati's current and future models are exclusively designed, developed, and produced in Italy at facilities such as the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Cassino, and Modena, which specializes in super sports cars like the MC20 spyder, the MC20 Cielo convertible, and the new GT2 Stradale. The Viale Ciro Menotti headquarters also houses a team of 130 engineers and technicians dedicated to developing the brand’s current and future models, collaborating closely with the Engine Lab to strengthen Maserati's position in the luxury automotive market.

Commenting on his visit, Elkann emphasized the importance of unity in overcoming industry challenges: “Our industry is going through hard times. Together, we have faced many challenges in the past and have already turned them into opportunities for the benefit of everyone who works with us, both in-house and externally: colleagues, dealers, customers, and suppliers, as well as institutions.”

He added that he believes that in such situations, it is necessary to remain united, and he therefore decided to be there for their people and visit Maserati’s historic headquarters in Modena. He thanked all the colleagues whose work, passion, and energy will continue to achieve great results for Maserati.

Santo Ficili expressed pride in hosting Elkann and celebrating Maserati’s legacy: “I’m delighted to welcome John Elkann to Modena, to meet the people who make this extraordinary brand not only the longest-lived in the Motor Valley, but also the standard-bearer of a unique vision of Italian luxury all over the world. We have recently celebrated our centenary; we have a unique past and are looking ahead to the future with renewed energy.”

The visit underscores Maserati's commitment to innovation and maintaining its heritage as Stellantis’ sole luxury brand.

Maserati line-up includes the Grecale, the “everyday exceptional” SUV, the GranTurismo, the iconic Italian grand tourer, and the GranCabrio, the new convertible of the Trident.
