Statiq, GLIDA and Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam have inaugurated the first of 20 planned public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Ghaziabad, with the first phase covering 100 charging points under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Under the arrangement, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam will provide land for the charging infrastructure, while Statiq and GLIDA will be involved in developing and operating the facilities. The charging points will be open to the public, with services offered at a nominal cost.
The rollout is intended to expand public charging access for residents, commuters and visitors across the municipal area. The press release does not specify the locations of all 20 stations or a timeline for completing the rollout.
Ghaziabad EV Charging Network to Cover 20 Locations
The first phase will include 100 charging points across 20 locations. The civic body will provide the land, while private-sector partners will handle infrastructure development and operations.
The initiative is being implemented as Ghaziabad works to expand infrastructure supporting electric mobility. Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik said the Uttar Pradesh EV Policy provides a framework for promoting EV adoption, while city-level implementation requires supporting charging infrastructure.
Statiq AVP–Business Akshay Ahuja said the collaboration would focus on expanding the availability of public charging facilities across Ghaziabad. The first station's inauguration marks the start of the planned rollout.
Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Mayor Sunita Dayal said the 100 charging points across 20 locations would be available for public use at a nominal cost. The civic body has positioned the initiative as part of its wider efforts to address urban environmental concerns.
The partnership combines municipal land provision with private-sector development and operations.
