Spinny Reports Threefold Rise in Used Car Deliveries on Gudi Padwa

Used car retailing platform Spinny recorded a threefold increase in deliveries on Gudi Padwa compared to a typical day, according to data shared by the company. The figures point to a growing pattern of consumers timing significant purchases around cultural and festive occasions.

In the days leading up to Gudi Padwa, footfall across Spinny's Car Hubs rose by 50%. Despite the elevated activity, 86% of customers reported a smooth buying experience, according to the company, suggesting its operational infrastructure was able to absorb the demand spike without a significant dip in service quality.

Regional demand was concentrated in western and southern India. Pune and Mumbai each recorded more than six times their typical daily delivery volumes, with each city serving over 100 customers on the day. Collectively, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka accounted for 70% of total deliveries on Gudi Padwa.

In terms of buyer preferences, Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki were the most purchased brands, with the Hyundai Grand i10 ranking as the single most popular model. White was the most chosen exterior colour across markets. More than half of all buyers — 53% — opted for financing arrangements, reflecting a continued uptake of structured ownership solutions in the used car segment.

Hanish Yadav, Senior Vice President at Spinny, attributed the surge to a broader shift in consumer behaviour, noting that more buyers are choosing to align car purchases with culturally significant dates. He added that the company's focus remains on maintaining transparency and service quality regardless of demand levels.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in New Delhi, Spinny operates more than 57 car hubs across 76 cities in India. The company conducts a 200-point inspection on every listed vehicle and offers a five-day money-back guarantee along with a one-year after-sales warranty. Spinny reports evaluating over 9 lakh cars and serving more than 2 lakh customers in 2025. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is a strategic investor and brand ambassador for the platform.
