Spinny, a used car platform in India, reported a 40% year-on-year growth in car deliveries this October, coinciding with the festive season. Major cities including Bangalore, NCR, Hyderabad, and Pune experienced increased demand, with customer preferences shifting toward automatic cars, SUVs, and financing options.
During the festive period, the platform delivered over 500 cars per day during Navratri, Dhanteras, the Diwali weekend, and its "Festival of Spinny" special price days. Deliveries of automatic vehicles rose by 57%, indicating a preference for convenience-focused options. The platform's vehicle exchange program saw a 39% increase, with more buyers trading in old vehicles for newer models, reflecting the trend of upgrading during Dhanteras. Petrol vehicles remained the most popular choice, with demand rising by 50%. SUVs and sedans also experienced notable growth, with increases of 49% and 46%, respectively. Additionally, women buyers made up more than 20% of the customer base in October, showing a rise compared to the previous year.
Niraj Singh, CEO and Founder of Spinny, commented that the increased demand indicates the appeal of informed and convenient buying experiences. He added that this aligns with the company's focus on trust and transparency during the festive period.
