Used-car retail platform Spinny delivered 1,370 vehicles across India on the first day of Navratri, the company's highest single-day delivery figure to date, according to Niraj Singh, co-founder and CEO.
The figure represents a 96% increase over the 698 cars delivered on the corresponding day in the previous year. Singh noted, however, that last year's base was affected by GST reductions on new cars, which created headwinds for the used-car market at the time and suppressed demand during that period. Accounting for that context, the underlying growth trajectory may differ from what the headline percentage suggests.
Navratri, a nine-day Hindu festival observed across India, is traditionally one of the most active periods for vehicle purchases, with many buyers considering it an auspicious time to make significant acquisitions. Automakers and dealers have historically reported elevated sales volumes during this window, and Spinny's figures indicate that consumer demand extended to the used-car segment this cycle.
Spinny operates as a full-stack digital marketplace for pre-owned vehicles, handling everything from vehicle inspection and refurbishment to financing and after-sales service. The company was founded in 2015 by Singh and Mohit Gupta and currently sells approximately 15,000 vehicles per month across its network of hubs in cities across India.
Singh attributed the milestone to the work of the company's operations and delivery teams, who were responsible for preparing vehicles and coordinating deliveries across multiple locations simultaneously. The scale of a single-day delivery event of this size requires coordination across the company's network of integrated quality centres and city-level teams.
