Sonalika Tractors reported overall sales of 17,204 units in May 2026, registering a 21% year-on-year increase and recording its highest-ever sales performance for the month. The company also produced 17,029 tractors during the month, marking its highest monthly production level as it prepares for the upcoming Kharif season.
The performance follows a strong start to FY27 in April, when Sonalika reported sales of 16,223 units, up 35.6% year-on-year, compared to an estimated industry growth of 27%. The company had indicated market share gains during April, supported by continued demand for mechanisation and favourable agricultural conditions.
Month-on-month, Sonalika’s overall sales increased by 981 units between April and May, reflecting sustained demand momentum heading into the sowing season.
According to the company, increased irrigation intensity, demand for mechanised farming solutions, and preparations for Kharif cropping have supported tractor demand across rural markets. Sonalika said farmers are increasingly seeking technology-enabled equipment aimed at improving productivity and crop management.
Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said the May sales performance reflects early preparation by farmers for the Kharif season and continued adoption of mechanisation. He added that the company’s production ramp-up was intended to meet seasonal demand requirements.
In April, the company had highlighted factors such as higher foodgrain production, GST-related cost adjustments and evolving rural demand patterns as supporting factors for growth. Sonalika has also indicated that product expansion and technology-led offerings will remain part of its strategy for FY27.
