Sonalika joins Fortune 500 India 2024, strengthens position in India’s auto industry
Sonalika, India’s leading tractor export brand, debuts in the Fortune 500 India 2024 list, reflecting its contribution to advancing agricultural mechanisation across 150+ countries worldwide.
Sonalika, a prominent tractor manufacturer based in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, has made its debut in the prestigious ‘Fortune 500 India’ 2024 list, ranking among the nation’s largest companies. The company has also earned a place among the top 10 automobile brands in India in the same listing.
Established in 1996, Sonalika has grown into a key player in the agricultural equipment sector, with an estimated turnover of USD 1.1 billion. The company’s consistent adherence to its core principles—delivering high-quality products and services, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and maintaining ethical business practices—has been central to its growth. A debt-free approach has further bolstered its expansion into over 150 countries worldwide.
Sonalika attributes its success to an inclusive organizational culture that values its employees, dealers, vendors, and the farming community. Known for its innovative and robust tractors, the company has focused on meeting the evolving needs of the agricultural sector. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sonalika maintained a people-first approach by ensuring job security, timely salary payments, and advance vendor settlements, setting an example of corporate responsibility.
Today, Sonalika stands as India’s leading tractor export brand and the third-largest tractor brand in the domestic market. The company operates the world’s largest integrated tractor manufacturing facility, capable of producing one tractor every two minutes, showcasing its contribution to agricultural modernization.
Commenting on the recognition, Sh. L.D. Mittal, Chairman of International Tractors Limited (Sonalika), described the achievement as a milestone for the company. He emphasized the importance of the company’s core values—delivering high-quality products, prioritizing people, and conducting ethical business operations. Mittal also highlighted Sonalika’s commitment to advancing agricultural mechanization through innovative farm machinery solutions.
He credited the accomplishment to the collective efforts of Sonalika’s team, the trust placed in the brand by farmers, and the support of its dealer and vendor partners. Expressing gratitude to all stakeholders, Mittal reaffirmed the company’s commitment to driving progress in the agricultural sector and sustaining its role as a key contributor to India’s auto industry.
