Sona Comstar Hits 500 Million Differential Gears and 10 Million Differential Assembly Marks

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) announced on April 7, 2026, that it has manufactured 500 million differential gears and 10 million differential assemblies since its founding in 1995, crossing two production milestones that the company says reflect growing customer demand for its driveline components across electric and conventional vehicle platforms globally.

The company's global market share in differential gears stood at an estimated 8.7% in CY25, up from 4.5% in 2019. Sona Comstar supplies differential assemblies, precision-forged differential gears, and other driveline components to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), passenger, commercial, and off-highway vehicle manufacturers.

On the differential gears milestone, production has accelerated sharply over time. The company crossed 100 million gears in 2013 and 200 million in early 2018. The next 100 million took three years, and the 400 million mark was reached within two and a half years after that. The most recent 100 million gears were produced in under two years.

Differential assembly production began at the Gurugram plant in 2008, expanded to Pune in 2014, and a third facility opened in Manesar in 2019. The company produced its one-millionth assembly in 2017 and reached 5 million by 2023. The next 5 million were produced in under three years.

Commenting on the milestone, Vivek Vikram Singh, Group CEO, Sona Comstar, said: "We are proud to celebrate these important milestones of our Driveline Business. They reflect the scale we have built over the years, our commitment to engineering excellence, and the trust our customers have placed in us globally. I thank our customers, suppliers, and employees for their continued support and contribution to this achievement. As mobility continues to evolve, we remain focused on innovation, expanding our integrated driveline capabilities, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet the changing needs of our customers across EV and conventional platforms."

Sona Comstar operates manufacturing and R&D facilities across India, the USA, Serbia, Mexico, and China.
