Sona Comstar and Tata STRIVE Set Up Chakan Training Facility to Address EV Skill Gap
Joint skill centre aims to supply industry-ready technicians to Pune’s expanding manufacturing and EV manufacturing hub.
Sona Comstar and Tata STRIVE have established a joint skill development centre in Chakan, targeting the local workforce requirements of Pune’s auto manufacturing cluster.
The newly inaugurated centre will offer specialized coursework in EV-specific technical training, CNC operations, electrical maintenance, and financial services. The placement of the facility in Chakan is aimed at directly bridging the gap between local job seekers and neighboring manufacturing facilities.
The initiative expands on Tata STRIVE’s industry-linked skilling programs. Sona Comstar noted that a similar skill centre established in Chennai achieved a placement rate of nearly 80% for its trainees, supported by growing enrollment among women candidates.
