SMK Helmets Expands India Portfolio with Nova Series Launch

SMK Helmets has announced the domestic launch of its Nova series in India, introducing two variants designed for performance-oriented riders. The Nova Solid and Nova Track models are now available across authorized retail outlets and motorcycle accessory stores nationwide.

The Nova series, which has previously been available in international markets, features Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) shells with multi-density EPS liners. Both models carry ECE 22.06, DOT, and ISI certifications, meeting safety standards recognized in India and globally.

SMK Helmets is a brand under STUDDS Accessories Ltd., which the company states is the world's largest two-wheeler helmet manufacturer by volume in Calendar Year 2024, according to a CARE Report. The parent company has manufacturing facilities with a combined capacity of 9.04 million units annually.

The helmets feature an optically corrected, scratch-resistant visor with Pinlock 30 anti-fog inserts fitted as standard. A one-touch quick-release mechanism allows for visor removal and maintenance. The ventilation system includes chin vents, top vents, and rear exhaust outlets designed to manage airflow during rides.

Interior components include a breathable, hypoallergenic liner that is removable and washable. The design accommodates eyeglass wearers and includes wind protectors and nose deflectors. Both models are offered in two shell sizes across six standard sizes from XS to XXL.

The Nova Track variant features graphic decals with track-inspired liveries and is available in seven colorways, including chrome-accented options, across gloss and matte finishes. The Nova Solid offers a minimalist aesthetic with five single-tone color options. A pink variant includes an iridescent finish that shifts between pink and violet tones under changing light conditions.

Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana, Managing Director of STUDDS Accessories Ltd., commented that the launch reflects increasing rider awareness of certified safety and contemporary design. He stated that the Nova series aims to provide internationally benchmarked protection alongside aerodynamic stability for both urban and highway riding conditions.

The Nova Solid is priced starting at ₹4,000, while the Nova Track starts at ₹4,300. Both variants are currently available through the company's authorized distribution network.

STUDDS Accessories Ltd. has been operating for nearly five decades and reports selling approximately 7.10 million helmets in Fiscal 2024. The company's Studds and SMK brands are marketed in more than 70 countries, with the SMK brand launched in 2016.
